This article explains how administrators can enable or disable the ability for patients to invite guests for video calls at the practice and service level.
Who Can Use This Feature
- Administrators: Can manage the settings for patient guest invitations in Practice and Service Settings.
Pre-requisite:
- The Improved Video Call Experience must be enabled for your practice
Instructions
Practice-Level Settings
These instructions show how to manage guest invitations for your entire practice.
- Log in as an Administrator.
- From the left-hand menu, select Practice Settings.
- Locate the setting: Disable Patient Guest Invitations.
- To allow patients to invite guests for video calls, make sure the box is unchecked. This is the default setting.
- Hover over the info icon next to the setting to view a tooltip: "Patients will not be able to invite guests.”
Service Settings

- From the left-hand menu, select Services.
- Click the gear icon next to the service you want to edit.
- Scroll down and select Guest Invites. A configuration panel will appear on the right-hand side of the screen.
- In the right-hand panel, click the dropdown menu to choose one of the following options:
- Inherit from Practice Settings – Uses the setting you configured at the practice level.
- Enable – Allows patients to invite guests to video calls for this service, regardless of the practice-level setting.
- Disable – Prevents patients from inviting guests to video calls for this service, regardless of the practice-level setting.
- Scroll to the top of the page and click Save to apply your changes.
