Copying a Smart Notes as Plain Text for Administrators | Smart Note

This article explains how administrators can enable the “Copy as plain text” feature for Smart Notes at the practice level, and how providers can use it to copy signed notes.

Who Can Use This Feature

  • Administrators: Can enable or disable the feature in Practice Settings.
  • Providers: Can copy Smart Notes as plain text once the feature is enabled and the note is signed.

Pre-requisites:

Before using this feature, ensure the following,

  • Smart Notes is enabled for your practice.
  • The note is signed.

Instructions

  1. Log in as an Administrator.

  2. From the left-hand menu, select Practice Settings.

  3. Locate the setting: “Show ‘Copy as plain text’ in Smart Notes”.

  4. Toggle the setting on (it is off by default).

  5. Hover over the info icon next to the setting to view a tooltip:

    “This feature allows Smart Notes to be copied into a plain text format (.txt).”
