Slide Over Mode enhances the virtual care experience by allowing providers to view and interact with patients while simultaneously documenting in the same screen. This feature streamlines workflows and improves efficiency during video visits.
Who can use this feature?
- Providers: Can use Slide Over Mode during patient visits once it is enabled.
Supported Patient Visit Types:
Slide Over Mode is available during the following visit types:
- Encounters with devices assigned
- Scheduled patient sessions
- Scheduled device sessions
Pre-Requisites
Before using Slide Over Mode, ensure the following:
- Administrators: Have enabled Slide Over Mode at either the practice or service levels.
Using Slide Over Mode During a Patient Visit
Patient Viewing & Documentation
Connect to the patient during one of the supported visit types.
- On the bottom panel, select the Patient icon to open the right-side panel.
- Click Start New Note to activate Slide Over Mode.
The view will default to a 50/50 split between video and documentation.
Additional Navigation Options
- Adjust View Split: Choose between Full View, 75/25, 50/50, or 25/75 for video vs. documentation.
- Main Navigation: Use the far-left panel to navigate between tabs while maintaining the 50/50 view.
- Example: Navigate to the Patient Queue tab without leaving Slide Over Mode.
- Right Panel Navigation: Access additional patient information and documentation tools.

Accessing Notes & Documents
- Select any highlighted section to open its corresponding page in Solo.
- Click Notes & Documents to open them in Slide Over Mode.
- To return to full patient view, select the Full Screen icon.
