This article explains how providers can use the Picture-in-Picture (PiP) feature to pop out a video feed and move it around the screen while navigating other documents during a consultation.
Picture-in-Picture allows providers to detach a video feed into a movable thumbnail window. This enables multitasking—such as reviewing documents or notes—without losing sight of the video stream.
- The thumbnail remains visible while navigating other parts of Solo or external documents.
- This feature is especially useful for maintaining visual contact with patients while reviewing clinical notes or Smart Notes.
Instructions
- Begin your consultation and start the video as usual.
- Click the three dots ‘…’ (More) menu on any video feed, then select 'Move to Picture in Picture'
- The video will pop out into a floating thumbnail and you can drag the thumbnail anywhere on your screen.
- Click “Back to Tab” to return the video to its original position in the main interface.
- The video sessions are now back in the original and thumbnail view
