Why Use a Custom Background
Choosing a custom virtual background helps maintain a professional and consistent appearance during video consultations. It ensures your virtual environment looks exactly as you intend—regardless of your physical surroundings.
Who Can Use This Feature
- Providers: Can select from a list of custom backgrounds uploaded by their practice administrator.
Pre-Requisites:
Before using this feature, ensure the following:
- Your practice administrator has uploaded the desired background images to your Solo practice account. (See: “Custom Virtual Backgrounds for Administrators | Improved Video Experience).
- You are either preparing for a consult or are in an active consultation
Instructions

Access AV Settings:
- Click the AV Settings icon (gear icon) either before or during a consultation.

This opens the audio/video settings panel on the right side of your screen.

Choose Your Background:
- In the AV Settings panel, go to the Virtual Backgrounds section.
- Click on the background image you want to use from the list provided by your administrator.

Automatic Display:
- Your selected background will be applied immediately.
- It will remain active for all future Solo consultations and device connections until changed.ddd
- Tip: You can change your virtual background at any time by repeating the steps above.
Troubleshooting
- If you do not see the specific background, you are looking for, contact your practice administrator, who is responsible for uploading and managing available background images.
